THE Illawarra Flame face another big challenge this week in Sydney Major League baseball round two fixtures against the Baulkham Hills Kookaburras. Game one will be played at Blacktown Olympic Park at 7.30 tonight, followed by game two at Northmead Reserve, Northmead, on Sunday afternoon. Second and third grades will precede the first grade game on Sunday. However the under 18 game has been deferred to December 21 due to representative training commitments for many Illawarra players. Illawarra media officer Frank Booth said even though the Flame went down to Blacktown Workers in their two season openers, there were some good signs. The 13-3 loss in game two saw the Flame in front until the fourth inning and there were opportunities later in the match, however they failed to produce runs. Baulkham Hills were given a big shock in their first game which they lost 1-0 to a revitalised North Shore team. But the Kookaburras recovered for the weekend game two and gave North Shore a 15-5 caning.
